Help Me Design a Native Garden
- Design:
- The first step to a native garden is getting a design. At Middlebrook Gardens we start this process by having the potential client fill out our questionnaire. The questionnaire is detailed, but this helps us to learn as much as we can about you and what you have in mind for your landscaped areas. This also helps you think about what you really want in depth. Once we receive this questionnaire by email, one of our designers will contact you to set up a time for a design consultation.
- Next we will give you an estimate to design your landscape. We will ask for half of the total design fee as a deposit. Upon presentation of the design we will collect the final portion of the design fee. Occasionally this process may take more than one meeting, which we will specify in your design contract.
- Landscape/Hardscape:
- Once you have the design it is yours to keep. You may shop it around with other landscapers for installation, you may opt to do the work yourself, and we will also give you our bid to install the garden.
- We hope you will choose to have our company install the landscape design. If you do then all the irrigation work is warranted for 1 year from installation. All one and 5 gallon plants are warranted for 90 days and fifteen gallon or larger are warranted for 1 year.
- Maintenance:
- Once your native garden is planted and growing it will require some maintenance, but not nearly as much as a traditional landscape. Middlebrook Gardens offers maintenance services for anyone who may be short on time, but wants a lovely maintained garden. Native gardens are quite different than traditional gardens, and will require maintenance at different times of the year than a traditional landscape. It is important that your garden become well established, and ideally with 2-3 years your garden will no longer be dependent on regular watering. Depending on your preference and the type of plant community in your garden you can request our maintenance services monthly to quarterly. Through our garden maintenance services, we can help you become a steward of your garden and teach you to manage your garden as well.
